WESTERN
The Western Region covers a large and diverse area reaching across to Broken Hill, far west of NSW, and down to West Wyalong on the Newell Highway.
It includes larger regional communities such Dubbo with a population of 40,000 and smaller townships with a population of a few hundred.
The region is steeped in a rich history of early pioneers and it is exciting to see the pioneer spirit alive and well with churches continuing to be planted out of both the large and small communities.
The region lays claim to the first Pentecostal fellowship (Parkes AOG) to have its own Pastor (1911); build its own building (1916); and to continue to worship today in the first purpose built Pentecostal brick building which was dedicated by CL Greenwood in 1926.
The long and rich history is celebrated while continuing to move forward with that pioneer spirit to build and extend God’s kingdom into the future.
